Success of Vaccination in Manitouwadge
Santé Manitouwadge Health has released an update of how their efforts to vaccinate residents of Manitouwadge have progressed and the numbers are rather impressive.
There have been a number of clinics held at the Recreation Centre which served as an ideal location allowing clinic-attendees to enter through the back entrance nearest the curling rink where they were registered before progressing through that hallway into the lobby. In the front lobby were booths, each with a nurse to administer the vaccine and another individual taking/recording information, where recipients also had the opportunity to have any questions they had answered. After receiving the injection, vaccine recipients would continue through to the hall adjacent to the arena (where people put on their skates in the winter) to sit, under observation, for 15 minutes to ensure they weren’t experiencing any adverse reactions prior to receiving printed (or information could be emailed for those who preferred) confirmation of the vaccine they received (stickers were also available) and then leaving out of a 2nd rear door. In addition to the obvious safety benefits of how the clinics were organized, the system also allowed people to be vaccinated within approximately 20-25 minutes from when they entered to when they exited, keeping appointments on schedule throughout each of the clinics held.
Thank you to all those involved in ensuring our community has had access to, and administration of, COVID vaccines as promptly and safely as was possible!
