Marathon Golf Clubhouse/Ski Club Chalet Destroyed in Fire
MARARTHON, ON – Lightening is believed to be responsible for the Marathon Golf Clubhouse being destroyed in a fire August 10, 2020.
The Marathon Fire Department shared details on Facebook including that trophies and pictures were lost in the fire that completely destroyed the building. The clubhouse, which had been closed to the public due to COVID-19 included a wrap around deck from which, during regular seasons, visitors could enjoy views of the Penninsula Golf Course. During winter months the Golf Clubhouse served as the  Marathon Cross Country Ski & Snowshoe Club club’s chalet.
